Jenny Li
PharmD, University of Pittsburgh | MS & PhD, University of Wisconsin-Madison

Jenny Li completed her PhD in the Health Services Research in Pharmacy program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2024. Previously, she graduated with her PharmD from the University of Pittsburgh in 2020 with a concentration in Community Leadership and Innovation in Practice. She also completed her MS in Health Services Research in Pharmacy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2022. Her research interests are optimizing adolescent health, substance use prevention, leveraging community pharmacists to support vulnerable populations, and engaging community stakeholders in research. Her graduate research work focused on adolescent vaping prevention and engaging adolescents, parents, and community pharmacists to curb the youth vaping epidemic. In her free time, Dr. Li loves to spend time with her family and friends, watch the latest TV shows and movies on all streaming platforms, and serve her church community.

Tanvee Thakur
PhD, Heath Services Research in Pharmacy | MS, Social and Administrative Pharmacy, Creighton University | BPharm

Tanvee Thakur is a pharmacist by training and earned her Masters of Science in Social and Administrative Pharmacy from Creighton University. She is now a PhD candidate in Heath Services Research in Pharmacy at UW-Madison. Her doctoral research focuses on exploring and enhancing patient-pharmacist communication about opioid medication risks and safety. She is interested in improving medication safety education for all. Within the CRoME lab, she has worked primarily on helping in developing and assessing a serious game to educate adolescents about opioid risks and safety. She is also a Principal Investigator on her independent research grants and has been involved in teaching Doctors of Pharmacy students for the past four years. Grace Nixon
Pharm.D. Candidate, Class of 2023 | ganixon@wisc.edu | B.S. Topical Studies, Rural Health Studies Option, University of Kentucky

Grace Nixon is a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) candidate and member of Dr. Olufunmilola Abraham’s CRoME research team at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Rural Health Studies from University of Kentucky in May 2019, where she focused her education on health disparities affecting rural populations and how pre-pharmacy students could better be inspired to serve rural populations in the future. Grace joined the CRoME team in October 2019 to further explore her interest in family health and complex disease states like cystic fibrosis. Grace enjoys exploring adolescent perceptions of healthcare and social sciences research processes through her work with Dr. Abraham’s lab. She hopes to use what she learns about health literacy and health education as a part of this team to help patients reach their everyday health goals in her future career. Grace also serves as webmaster for the CRoME Team website, which involves regular collaboration among various individuals to build and maintain a site that fully encompasses all of the amazing things CRoME Team does! Following graduation, Grace is interested in pursuing a residency and becoming an ambulatory care pharmacist. She particularly enjoys cardiovascular disease states and nephrology. Outside of school, Grace enjoys spending quality time with friends and family, being active outdoors, and volunteering in her community.

Laura Seitz
Pharm.D. Candidate, Class of 2024 | lseitz2@wisc.edu | B.S. Genetics and Genomics, University of Wisconsin-Madison

Laura Seitz is a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) candidate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Pharmacy. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Genetics and Genomics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in May of 2020, where she assisted in research studying disease etiology and treatment of Alexander Disease using mouse models. Laura joined Dr. Abraham’s CRoME research team in the summer of 2021 to explore her interests in family health, health literacy, and medication safety. After graduation, she is interested in completing a pharmacy residency and becoming an inpatient pharmacist with a focus on pharmacogenetics or pediatric pharmacy. Laura currently works as an inpatient pharmacy technician at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, WI. In her free time, Laura enjoys spending time outdoors, being with family and friends, and visiting the Terrace at UW-Madison.

Kourtney Peterson
Pharm.D. Candidate, Class of 2024 | kapeterson22@wisc.edu | B.S. Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Wisconsin-Madison

Kourtney is a Doctor of Pharmacy candidate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from UW Madison in 2021, and is originally from Waterford, WI. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, waterskiing, and being on the lake. Kourtney currently works at the inpatient pharmacy at the Madison VA Hospital, and after graduation she would also like to pursue a residency in a hospital setting. Kourtney joined the CRoME lab to expand her knowledge in research and interests in health literacy and improving patient outcomes. 

Kelby Drogemuller
Pharm.D. Candidate, Class of 2025 | kdrogemuller@wisc.edu | B.S. Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Wisconsin-Madison

Kelby Drogemuller is a Doctor of Pharmacy candidate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison originally from Lakeville, MN. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences and certificate in Gender and Women’s Studies from UW Madison in 2022. Kelby joined Dr. Abraham’s CRoME team in June 2022 to explore her interests in the research process, health literacy, and pediatric health. After graduation, she plans on completing a pharmacy residency and working as a clinical pharmacist with a specialty in oncology or pediatrics. In her free time, Kelby enjoys reading, hiking, and spending time with her family, friends, and pets.

Kimia Jazayeri
Pharm.D. Candidate, Class of 2025 | Kjazayeri@wisc.edu | B.S Biological Sciences, University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee

Kimia Jazayeri is a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) candidate at the University of Wisconsin Madison. She received her bachelor of Biological Sciences and minor in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, where she also participated in research studying non-ribosomal peptide genes involved in antibiotic production in specific bacterial strains. She has been working as a pharmacy technician in Long Life Pharmacy which is an independent pharmacy in Milwaukee for about 3.5 years now. She joined Dr. Abraham’s CRoME research team in the Spring of 2023 to expand her knowledge of clinical research and gain a better understanding of medication safety and health literacy in special populations including adolescence and underserved populations. She is hoping to use her experience and skills from this lab to improve patient care in her future practice. In her free time, Kimia enjoys traveling, reading books, doing yoga, and spending time with her family and friends.

Soua Yang
Pharm. D. Candidate, Class of 2026 | syang638@wisc.edu | B.S. Biology, University of Wisconsin – La Crosse

Soua Yang is a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) candidate at the University of Wisconsin – Madison School of Pharmacy. She is originally from La Crosse, Wisconsin, and joined Dr. Abraham’s CRoME Team in January 2023 to explore research opportunities that are different from wet labs and to expand her knowledge about social sciences research. She also hopes to use the knowledge and experience learned to help educate patients about different topics in health and medication usage. She has worked at Walgreens throughout her undergraduate and pharmacy schooling. Outside of school, Soua enjoys traveling to experience, learn, and expose herself to different types of culture. She is also a food explorer and loves to try different types of food.

Julia Mogilevskiy

Julia Mogilevskiy is a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) candidate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she also completed her pre-pharmacy coursework. In August 2020 she joined Dr. Olufunmilola Abraham’s CRoME research team in order to further explore her passion in promoting safe medication use across various populations. Julia’s pharmacy experience consists of previously working as an inpatient pharmacy technician which transitioned into working as an outpatient technician at Walgreens. Following graduation, she is interested in completing a residency and becoming an ambulatory care pharmacist. She hopes to apply her knowledge from CRoME Lab to make headway in directly promoting medication safety to her patients. In her free time Julia enjoys exercising, trying new Madison restaurants, and spending time on Lake Mendota.

Nikki Batterman
Pharm.D. Candidate, Class of 2023 | nbatterman@wisc.edu | B.S. Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Wisconsin-Madison

Nikki is a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) candidate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Pharmacy. She is originally from Wausau, Wisconsin and recently earned her Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in December of 2020. Nikki joined the CRoME team in August of 2021 to further explore her interest in family health and promoting safe medication use. Her pharmacy experience includes previously working as a community pharmacy technician at Walgreens before moving to her current role as a pharmacy intern at the Madison VA Hospital. Following graduation, Nikki hopes to pursue a residency and eventually become an ambulatory care pharmacist. Outside of school, Nikki enjoys spending time with family and friends, attending live music shows, running, and other outdoor activities.

Maggie Hoernke
Pharm.D. Candidate, Class of 2022 | mhoernke@wisc.edu

Maggie is a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) candidate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Pharmacy. She is originally from Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and completed her pre-pharmacy coursework at University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. She has been an active member of the research team since the spring of 2019 and enjoys learning new things about each component of the research process. After graduation, Maggie plans to go on to complete a pharmacy residency with the goal of specializing in pediatric pharmacy. In addition to schoolwork, Maggie currently works as an inpatient pharmacy technician at the Madison VA down the street from the School of Pharmacy. When she has free time away from school and work, she enjoys visiting her family & friends back home, running, hiking, and spending time outdoors. Emilie Feng, M.P.H.

Emilie Feng is a Doctor of Pharmacy candidate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She earned a Master of Public Health in Environmental and Occupational Health from the University of Pittsburgh, and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto. Emilie joined the team in April 2020, with an aim to further game based learning for cancer awareness and prevention, and explore ways to use social media to reach adolescents. In her spare time, Emilie volunteers with MEDiC and St. Vincent de Paul Charitable Pharmacy in Madison. Following graduation, she hopes to complete a residency in clinical or ambulatory pharmacy, and use the skills she gained at CRoME Lab to advance outreach efforts with children and teens. Emilie enjoys cycling on Zwift and around Madison during the warmer months.

Amrita Geddam
Pharm.D. Candidate, Class of 2023 | geddam@wisc.edu | B.S. Microbiology, University of Wisconsin-Madison

Amrita Geddam is a Doctor of Pharmacy Candidate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  She earned her Bachelors of Science in Microbiology with a certificate in Religious Studies from University of Wisconsin-Madison. Amrita joined Dr. Abraham’s amazing CRoME team in May of 2020 with the aim of studying cancer education in teens. She currently serves as an inpatient pharmacy technician at the Veterans Affairs Hospital while volunteering with MEDiC in her spare time. She plans to become an ambulatory care or inpatient pharmacist in the near future and eventually teach and mentor future pharmacy students.

Ugboaku Maryann Egbujor
Pharm.D. Candidate, Class of 2023 | egbujor@wisc.edu | Associates in Science and Arts, Prairie State College Illinois

Maryann Egbujor is a Doctor of Pharmacy Candidate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She earned two Associate Degrees in Science and Arts from Prairie State College Illinois in May 2019, where she spent two years taking pre-pharmacy coursework. Maryann joined Dr. Abraham’s CRoME lab in June 2020 to research youth literacy in cancer risk factors. Her pharmacy experience includes working as a pharmacy technician at Walgreens, volunteering with several MEDiC clinics in Madison, and volunteering with St. Vincent de Paul Charitable Pharmacy. Her goal is to complete a residency and work as an inpatient pharmacist in the near future, focusing on infectious diseases. She hopes to apply the skills and knowledge acquired from working on the research to enhance patient health literacy in her future career. In her free time, Maryann enjoys Afro beat dance, movies, and spending time with family and friends.

Kathleen Tierney

Kathleen is a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) candidate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Pharmacy. She is originally from Buffalo, Minnesota and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences from University of Minnesota Rochester. Kathleen joined Dr. Abraham’s CRoME team in September of 2020 with the aim of furthering game-based learning in adolescents for cancer awareness and prevention. Her pharmacy experience includes working as an inpatient pharmacy technician at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN and volunteering at the Salvation Army/Good Samaritan Health Clinic in Rochester, MN. Following graduation, she plans to complete a residency and work as a clinical pharmacist. In her free time Kathleen enjoys riding her bike, playing video games with her friends, and creating digital paintings.

Sommer Gay
Pharm.D. Candidate, Class of 2022 | slgay@wisc.edu

Sommer Gay is a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) candidate and student researcher at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Pharmacy. She works in the research lab of Dr. Olufunmilola Abraham studying pharmacists’ role in the care of patients with cystic fibrosis and development of a video game designed to promote safe handling and use of opioid medications. She completed her prerequisite coursework at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Sommer joined the lab in January of 2019 to gain a deeper understanding of pharmacists’ role in research and how research can impact patient lives. She hopes to work as an ambulatory care pharmacist following graduation; in this role, she hopes to apply the skills and knowledge developed through research to practice. Sommer currently is a pharmacy technician at Group Health Cooperative and in her free time she enjoys exercising and eating at the various restaurants in Madison, her favorite of which is Belair.

Mahnoor Khan

Mahnoor Khan is a Doctor of Pharmacy candidate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Pharmacy and student researcher in the lab of Dr. Olufunmilola Abraham. She is from Lahore, Pakistan, where she grew up and lived before starting school at The Pennsylvania State University. She joined the research team in January 2020 and enjoys learning about the different activities and studies of which the lab is involved. After graduation, Mahnoor plans on completing a pharmacy residency and specializing in Emergency Medicine or Critical Care. Outside school, Mahnoor is an avid concert goer, enjoys traveling and exploring the diverse landscapes of the United States, and is a novice Photographer.

Sarah LeMay
Pharm.D. Candidate, Class of 2022 | sparbs@wisc.edu | B.S. Biology, St. Norbert College

Sarah LeMay is a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) candidate at the University of Wisconsin Madison. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from St. Norbert College. She currently works in the ambulatory department as a pharmacy technician for UW-Health. In her free time she enjoys running, working with patients at MEDiC Student Run Free Clinics, and spending time with her pets. She started doing research in January 2019 and has since gained valuable experience in learning about teen and adolescent perspectives of safe opioid use. Her current work focuses on pharmacist intervention in the care of patients with cystic fibrosis. She joined the CRoME team to learn about how patients want to be educated on medications and disease prevention, something she hopes to translate to her future pharmacy practice. Her career interests are in chronic disease management and health literacy. She hopes to complete a residency after graduation with a focus in ambulatory care services to help patients live at their best version of health.

Sarah Bittner

Sarah Bittner is a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) candidate and student researcher at the University of Wisconsin – Madison School of Pharmacy. She works in Dr. Olufunmilola Abraham’s CRoME Lab conducting pediatric health services research on medication safety through game-based learning. She completed her undergraduate coursework at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Sarah’s pharmacy experience consists of being a pharmacy technician at Walgreens and being a frequent volunteer at the various MEDiC student run clinics located throughout Madison. She joined the CRoME Lab in January 2019 due to her passion for educating others on medication safety. Following graduation, Sarah hopes to complete a residency and work as a clinical pharmacist where she will be able to directly apply the skills acquired while working in the CRoME Lab. In her free time Sarah enjoys spending time at Memorial Union Terrace with her friends, game nights with her family, and jumping around at Badger football games.

Kelsey Brasel
Pharm.D. Candidate, Class of 2022 | kbrasel@wisc.edu

Kelsey Brasel is a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) candidate and student researcher at the University of Wisconsin – Madison School of Pharmacy. She works in Dr. Olufunmilola Abraham’s research lab within the School’s Social and Administrative Sciences Division. She is studying adolescent educational preferences for learning about opioid safety and cancer prevention, the role of a pharmacist in a cystic fibrosis care team, and student pharmacist well-being. In March 2019, Kelsey joined the research lab to further explore her passion for pediatrics. Following graduation, she hopes to complete a residency and become a pediatric inpatient pharmacist. She feels that the skills learned in this research lab will help her communicate with and teach the pediatric population well, in addition to helping her continue to perform research in practice. In an effort to explore pharmacy outside of the classroom, Kelsey was previously a pharmacy technician at a community pharmacy for over four years, before making the transition to a medication reconciliation technician position in a hospital. Prior to attending pharmacy school, Kelsey completed her prerequisite coursework at Concordia University Wisconsin. Outside of school, Kelsey likes to attend Badger games and explore Madison with her friends.

Haley Stafford
Pharm.D. Candidate, Class of 2021 | B.S. Biology, University of Minnesota-Twin Cities

Haley Stafford is a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) candidate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Pharmacy. She attended the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and received a B.S. in Biology in 2017. Haley has been a member of Dr. Abraham’s CRoME lab since 2018 and has focused on projects dealing with opioid education aimed at adolescents. Her hometown of Inver Grove Heights, MN had many teens fall into opioid abuse, so Haley is passionate about making an impact with this vulnerable population.

Haley’s pharmacy experience has been outpatient focused, with time spent as a pharmacy technician at Walgreens and as a pharmacy intern at an in-clinic pharmacy at SSM Health. Whatever area of pharmacy Haley ultimately decides is the right fit, she would love to be able to spend time educating patients on their medications as much as possible. After graduation, Haley is planning on completing a residency, and as of now would enjoy either specialty pharmacy or an outpatient pharmacy that is a part of a health system. Within the pharmacy school Haley has most enjoyed her role as a mentor for incoming pharmacy candidates to aid their transition and establish confidence within pharmacy. Outside of pharmacy practice, Haley enjoys visiting her family in South Carolina, trying new restaurants, and is counting down the days until she can support having a dog of her own!

Megan Buechel
Pharm.D. Candidate, Class of 2022 | B.S. Biology, University of Wisconsin-Madison

Megan Buechel is a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) candidate and member of Dr. Olufunmilola Abraham’s CRoME team at the University of Wisconsin–Madison School of Pharmacy. Megan attended UW-Madison for her undergraduate studies where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Megan joined the research team in January 2019 and has been involved in various research projects, including utilization of game-based learning to educate adolescents about medication safety and exploring the role of the pharmacist in the cystic fibrosis care team. She has always had a passion for working with pediatric populations and enjoys learning about ways that pharmacists can better serve this population. Following graduation, Megan hopes to complete a residency and then go on to practice as a clinical pharmacist. Outside of school, Megan works as a pharmacy technician for UW-Health’s Ambulatory Pharmacy Department, and is a medication access specialist for UW-Health’s Medication Assistance Program. In her free time, Megan enjoys volunteering for MEDiC Student Run Clinics, running throughout Madison, and cheering on the Badgers.

Victoria Chowaniak

Victoria Chowaniak is a current undergraduate student at the University of Wisconsin- Madison where she is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a certificate in global health. Victoria is currently unsure of whether she wants to apply to Pharmacy or Medical school. Victoria joined Dr. Abraham’s CRoME team in March of 2022 for it is a great opportunity to learn and hopefully help guide her decisions about her future schooling. Victoria does not have much pharmacy experience. However, she volunteered at her local community hospital for nearly 2 years and is now a quality improvements intern for Dr. Wilhelm at the UW Kids Pediatric Heart institute. Victoria enjoys working out, hiking, cooking, and spending time with friends and family in her free time.
