Congratulations to graduate student Adati Tarfa on being one of the three individuals selected by the Wisconsin Public Health Association (WPHA) for the Early Career Professional (ECP) Scholarship.
The scholarship will be applied to attending the WPHA 2019 Annual Conference, May 21-23, 2019. This year’s theme is, “Building Bridges, Systems, Environment; Changes in Action.”
Dr. Shiyanbola and graduate students: Yen-ming Huang, Deepika Rao, and Adati Tarfa had an engaging time in Seattle at the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) Annual Meeting and Exposition.
Dr. Shiyanbola co-facilitated an engaging workshop on “The Nuts and Bolts for Getting Started in Mixed Methods Research” alongside Tim Guetterman. Each graduate student presented their original research ideas to leading pharmacy professionals, clinicians, researchers, educators, and student pharmacists.
Congratulations to Adati Tarfa , Yen-Ming Huang, and Deepika Rao, graduate students in the lab who all received Student Research Travel Grants Awards from the Wisconsin Scholarship Hub.
Yen-Ming Huang presented his collaborative research with National Taiwan University at the 11th PCNE Working Conference 2019 in the Netherlands.
Dr. Shiyanbola was invited as a speaker at the International Asia Health Literacy Conference in Taiwan where she presented her research on health literacy and medication use.
She also presented psyshcosocial factors and medication adherence and applying mixed methods in pharmacy/health services research to graduate students at China Medical University and Taipei Medical University.
Yen-Ming Huang , graduate student in the Shiyanbola lab presented a podium presentation on the barriers and facilitators of medication adherence across health literacy levels at the International Asia Health Literacy Conference in Taiwan.
Dr. Shiyanbola has been invited to present a podium presentation on the Content Validity Process for Adapting an Illness Perception Questionnaire for African Americans with diabetes at the 2019 Society for Behavioral Medicine Association Meeting.
