Vivian to serve on health center board

Eva Vivian, professor (CHS) in the Pharmacy Practice Division, was selected to serve on the Board of Directors of Access Community Health Centers. Vivian currently maintains a clinical practice at Access Community Health Centers in Madison.

Vivian is certified in diabetes education and advanced diabetes management. Her research interest focus on identifying disparities in the treatment of hypertension, diabetes, and other chronic diseases among ethnic minorities, particularly African American and Latino American patients and developing and implementing strategies to reduce and eliminate them. Recently, her research has sharpened its focus in response to heightened awareness of the great numbers of children and adolescents who are at special risk of diabetes.

Access Community Health Centers offers medical, dental, behavioral health care and affiliated pharmacy services at five locations in the Greater Madison and Iowa County region. Vivian will serve a three year term beginning July 1, 2015.
