Hayney contributes expertise at disaster simulation

Mary Hayney, professor (CHS) in the Pharmacy Practice Division, participated in Surge X, a large scale training event based on a fictitious catastrophic flood that occurred in Wisconsin’s North woods.

Hosted by the Wisconsin Medical Reserve Corps the event exercised one of the organization’s largest disaster response assets—a 40 bed Mobile Medical Care Facility. This one-of-a-kind mobile asset is the only one in Wisconsin and is available for disaster response statewide. The two-day event was held May 30-31, 2015 at the Northcentral Technical College Public Safety Training Center of Excellence in Wausau, Wis.
