Vardeny recognized as ACCP Fellow

Orly Vardeny, associate professor (CHS) in the Pharmacy Practice Division, is among 33 colleagues nationally who have been elected a Fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP).

Recognition as a Fellow is awarded to ACCP members who have demonstrated a sustained level of excellence in clinical pharmacy practice and/or research. After nomination by their colleagues, Fellow candidates undergo a comprehensive and rigorous evaluation by the Credentials: Fellowship Committee of their practice and research accomplishments. Vardeny’s research interests include metabolic effects of cardiovascular medications, pharmacogenetics of cardiovascular medications, insulin resistance and heart failure, immune function and influenza vaccine response in patients with cardiovascular disease.

Fellows can be recognized by the inclusion of the initial “FCCP” as part of their title. The 2014 Fellows were recognized during a special ceremony at the ACCP Annual Meeting in Austin, Tex. on October 12, 2014.
