A gathering of great pharmacy minds

In August, Wisconsin pharmacists and School of Pharmacy alumni flocked to Wisconsin Dells, Wis., for the annual Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin (PSW) meeting, to re-connect with each other, discuss current issues in pharmacy, brainstorm for the future, and recognize excellence in pharmacy practice. Congratulations to the Badger pharmacists who took home PSW awards this year:

• Diane Erdman (PharmD ’97), Pharmacist of the Year
• Barry McClain (MS ’11), Young Pharmacist of the Year
• Susan Kleppin (BS ’85), Distinguished Service Award
• Julie Dagam (BS ’98, PharmD ’99), Excellence in Innovation Award

During the meeting, the Pharmacy Alumni Association held a luncheon just for Badger pharmacists, which included awards for three pharmacy leaders:

• Franklin “Rocky” La Dien (BS ’77), Alumnus of the Year
• Melissa Forbes (PharmD ’10), Young Alumnus of the Year
• Paul Jest (PharmD ’11), IPPE Clinical Instructor of the Year
