The Thailand experience is based in a large, university hospital setting. Here, you will participate in daily rounds with the medical team, answer drug information questions, attend case presentations and journal clubs and complete a project. You may also have the experience of conducting pharmacoeconomic analysis and outcomes research in an integrated health system environment. Thai instructors have very high expectations for their students and will encourage you to reach your full potential.
Educational experiences also include observing clinical pharmacy roles in the context of a new health care setting, improve oral and written communication, and strengthen research data collection and methodology skills.
Live
Housing has been identified near the university where you will work, making the commute on foot a quick journey. Air conditioning and quick internet are also included. Rooms typically do not have stove ranges, but food is inexpensive and dining out is common. In the Thai culture, meals are very social events and you will find many people excited to share with you their local cuisine and delicacies.
Immerse yourself in the the culture and language of Thailand by taking part of the student and professional life around you. You will undoubtedly broaden your view of health care, increase your cultural competency, foster new friendships, and develop personally and professionally.
Discover
If you wish to explore Thailand’s rich cultural diversity, weekend travel is an option for you. Past students have traveled by car, bus or plane to reach every corner of the country. Exploring jungles, rain forest, floating markets and temples are just a few of the possibilities. Music concerts, traditional dance expositions, and tasting the flavorful cuisine are all waiting for you to discover. Past students have also enjoyed comparing and contrasting daily activities they usually do at home; if you usually do yoga, try a class here!
