Overview

Information from interviews with pharmacists currently offering injectable naltrexone services identified best practices39 to administer injectable naltrexone in a community pharmacy (see Table 1). The activities are classified into three thematic categories: (1) pre-injection activities, (2) injection activities, and (3) post-injection activities. The typical flow of these activities is shown below. Whether an activity is completed depends on if the individual is a new client coming in for their first naltrexone injection or is a returning patient.
