NIATx200 extended prior successfully NIATx research and recruited 201 addiction treatment clinics in five states (Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, Oregon and Washington). The purpose of the research was to determine which NIATx intervention component (interest circles, learning sessions, coaching or a combination of all three) was most effective at improving wait time, retention and admissions. Participating clinics were randomized to one of four implementation strategies: a) interest circle calls (n=49), b) learning sessions (n=54), c) coaching (n=50) or d) a combination of all three (n=48). The 18-month active implementation period was followed by a 9-month short-term sustainment period.
