New Jobs/Positions

Pariah Sanaty Zadeh

Paria Sanaty Zadeh (PharmD ’17) has been appointed to the U.S. Pharmacopeia (USP) Healthcare Safety, Quality & Nomenclature (HSQN) Expert Committee for the 2025–2030 cycle. In this role, she will develop, revise, and approve USP public standards for healthcare quality, medication-use safety, and nomenclature that become official text in the USP–NF.

Sara King

Sara (Schrauth) King (BS ’99) has accepted a position as pharmacy solutions consultant with Ethica Pharmacy Advisors in Madison, Wis.

Sonal Ghura

Sonal Ghura (PhD ’17) has been included in Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes for her distinguished career in patient-centered clinical outcome assessment.

Lisa Holle

Lisa Holle (BS ’93, MS ’95) is being inducted as a 2025 fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy.

Jim de Muth

James de Muth (MS ’72, PhD ’74) is being honored with the 2026 Weaver Medal of Honor from the Drake University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.

Heidi Mansour

Heidi Mansour (BS ’96, PhD ’03) has been inducted as a full member of the Academy of Science, Engineering, and Medicine of Florida (ASEMFL). Inductees are selected based on outstanding research contributions and innovations, with full membership reserved for individuals who have achieved the highest recognition and impact in their field.

Personal Updates and Check-Ins

Counseling Pearls Pocketbook cover

Bernard Brooks (PharmD ’20’) recently released the Counseling Pearls Pocketbook, a practical patient-counseling reference designed to help pharmacy students and early-career clinicians build confidence in fast-paced clinical settings. The book focuses on real-world counseling language and clinical pearls rather than textbook scripts and recently reached #1 New Release in Pharmacology Reference on Amazon. Bernard currently practices as a pharmacist and remains passionate about education and mentorship.

Elliot Sogol

Elliott Sogol (BS ’79, MS ’81, PhD ’84) has been elected as chair of the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education: Continuing Professional Education Commission for the 2026-2027 term.

Steve Ebert (BS ’79): “We are proud to announce our daughter graduated from the Medical College of Wisconsin School of Medicine and married her sweetheart this summer!”

Richard Hoffman (BS ’55) won first place in the National Arts Program 2025 Adult Amateur Photography category in Santa Rosa, Calif. He also combined his mortar collection (135 mortars & pestles, 1 oz to 145 lbs, from 14th century to early 20th century) with the extensive collection of Tony Tizzano (of the Cleveland Clinic) of early to current medical devices, covering medicine and pharmacy to form a future exhibit.
