On September 14, 2025, the University of Wisconsin–Madison School of Pharmacy celebrated an important milestone for the PharmD Class of 2029: their White Coat Ceremony. The tradition marks student pharmacists’ official welcome into the profession as they receive their first white coats — symbol of professionalism, learning, and patient care they will wear throughout their four years in the program — made possible by the generous support of alumni and friends.
The event featured remarks from Steve Swanson, dean of the School of Pharmacy; Pharmacy Alumni Association President Jenny Tempelis (PharmD ’03); Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin Board of Directors President Nicole Schreiner (BS ’97, PharmD ’98); and 2025 Young Alumnus of the Year Mike Raschka (PharmD ’12). Current PharmD students also spoke to welcome the Class of 2029 into the profession, including third-year PharmD student Chaise Pucek, president of the Wisconsin Society of Pharmacy Students (WSPS), along with WSPS professionalism team members second-year PharmD student Kaitlyn Fischer, third-year PharmD student Katie Molkentin, and second-year PharmD student Charley Kaylor (second-year), who helped organize the ceremony.
