Weiping Tang, associate professor in the Pharmaceutical Sciences Division, and Co-Director of Medicinal Chemistry Center, was highlighted in the July 7, 2016 edition of “Angewandte Chemie International Edition.” Published weekly and recognized as a top chemistry research journal with an impact factor over 11, the journal profiles authors who have published their 10th paper in the journal in the past 10 years. Tang joined the School in 2007 and his research interests include various aspects of drug discovery including synthetic organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, assay development, and chemical biology. His current focus is the development of new therapeutics for metabolic disorders and cancers.
