december2015coverproof-dda-resized- newsLingjun Li, professor in the Pharmaceutical Sciences Division, was the focus of a recent issue of Journal of American Society for Mass Spectrometry (JASMS) dedicated to the area of Mass Spectrometry-based Strategies for Neuroproteomics and Peptidomics, in honor of her receiving the 2014 Biemann Medal Award. Li received the award in recognition of her outstanding contributions in the field of mass spectrometric study of neuropeptides and functional peptidomics. Her research program is focused on the development of new mass spectrometry (MS)-based tools to study challenging neuroscience problems, reveal the functions of neuropeptides, and discover biomarkers in neurodegenerative diseases. The Li group studies crustacean model organisms to significantly expand current knowledge about neuropeptides in the nervous system. The JASMS cover art was designed by Sally Griffith-Oh, senior information processing consultant, Instructional & Information Technology, at the School of Pharmacy.
