Vivian is invited speaker at national ADA meeting

Eva Vivian, professor (CHS) in the Pharmacy Practice Division, will present on the topic “Implementing the Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support Algorithm of Care: Models for Delivery,” at the “Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support in Type 2 Diabetes: Joint Statement of the ADA, AADE, and AND,” symposium at the upcoming American Diabetes Association’s 76th Scientific Sessions meeting. The American Diabetes Association’s Scientific Sessions offers researchers and health care professionals from around the world the unique opportunity to share ideas and learn about the significant advances in diabetes research, treatment, and care. Vivian was recommended by colleagues for her expertise in this area. The meeting will be held in June in New Orleans, La. Vivian’s research focus is identifying disparities in the treatment of hypertension, diabetes, and other chronic diseases among ethnic minorities and developing and implementing strategies to reduce and eliminate them.
