Melgardt de Villiers, professor (CHS), in the Pharmaceutical Sciences Division, was elected Secretary of the Pharmaceutics Section of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP).

AACP is structured as a democratic organization with decision-making vested in a House of Delegates, a Board of Directors and the Office of the Executive Vice President. It provides leadership in advancing and enhancing the quality of education and training in its member colleges and schools. de Villiers will share the Secretary role with Duc P. Do, an associate professor of pharmaceutical sciences, Chicago State University College of Pharmacy, Chicago, Ill.
