Rose is invited speaker for Science Cafe

Warren Rose, associate professor (CHS) in the Pharmacy Practice Division, was among three UW-Madison faculty experts who shared his views on “A World without Antibiotics” at a recent Science Cafe. Rose along with campus colleagues Dr. Jacqueline Gerhart, family medical practitioner, UW-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health, and Professor Mark Cook, animal sciences, UW-Madison College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, presented a program and hosted an informal conversation on “What happens when the drugs we rely upon for food and health begin to fail?” Science cafés are live grassroots events held in casual settings like coffeehouses and pubs that are open to everyone, organized locally and feature an engaging conversation with a scientist on a particular topic. Science cafés have been held in communities across the globe for years. Science Café at Discovery generally takes place at Steenbock’s on Orchard in the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery Center and is free and open to the public, with the exception of food or beverage purchases.
