Yu selected for AAPS highest award

Lian Yu, professor in the Pharmaceutical Sciences Division, has been awarded the 2011 David Grant Research Achievement Award in Physical Pharmacy from the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS).

This competitive award is among the highest conferred by AAPS and is presented based on the recipient’s continued high quality of work and the impact of their research in the fields of physical pharmacy. Yu is recognized for his contributions to the science of pharmaceutical solids and organic materials. Yu and his colleagues have studied phenomena of soft organic materials that are unknown for traditional hard materials, and advanced the understanding of crystallization, polymorphism, molecular mobility in solids, and stability of amorphous drugs.

As a recipient, Yu presented his research at a dedicated lecture at the 2011 AAPS Annual Meeting and Exposition in Washington, D.C. on October 25, 2011.
