School welcomes Xiong as assistant professor

May Xiong, joins the School of Pharmacy as an assistant professor in the Pharmaceutical Sciences Division on June 1.

Xiong is a UW-Madison alumna, having earned her PhD here in 2007. Most recently, Xiong was a postdoc in the Division of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at the California Institute of Technology. Xiong’s research interests are focused on using stem cells as delivery vehicles for siRNA and drug delivery, and developing new biomaterials for combination therapy. Xiong recently earned a prestigious Howard Temin Pathway to Independence Award in Cancer Research from NCI. Xiong will be contributing to the teaching team in drug delivery within the Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum.
