The multidisciplinary, translational research approach of the Wenthur laboratory is dedicated to improving treatment for psychiatric illnesses, particularly substance use disorders and major depressive disorder, using novel immunologic and neurochemical approaches. THE WENTHUR LAB IS CURRENTLY SEEKING A QUALIFIED POSTDOCTORAL APPLICANT to join the Deconvoluting Polypharmacologic Contributions of Rapidly-Acting Antidepressants R01 project, funded by NIMH through 2024. The successful applicant can expect to begin work in the lab in Q1 or Q2 of 2021.
Required qualifications for this position include:
A PhD in Chemistry, Pharmacology, Neuroscience, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related discipline
Experience in scientific writing, including both scholarly publications and grant applications
Demonstrated expertise in organic synthesis and purification, as well as one or more of the following additional areas;
Bioconjugation and hapten design Quantitative mass spectrometry analysis
Pharmacokinetic modeling Antibody isolation and purification
Biophysical affinity measurement methods Vaccine formulation and delivery
Additionally desirable qualifications include experience or dedicated interest in working with:
Transgenic rodent models and tissues Fluorescence imaging approaches
Psychoactive small molecule therapeutics An interdisciplinary drug development team
