BS in Pharmaceutical Sciences

The BS in Pharmaceutical Sciences (BSPS) degree is an optional undergraduate degree that will be offered to any student admitted to the UW School of Pharmacy’s PharmD program who:

  • Has not completed an undergraduate degree
  • Was enrolled as an undergraduate student at UW-Madison (minimum of 30 credits)
  • Has successfully completed the first two years of the PharmD program
  • Has completed the UW-Madison general education requirements.  SOP pre-requisite courses automatically fulfill all of these requirements except:
    • Communication B requirement
Notes about this program:
  • Implementation of this degree option began in the 2014-15 academic year
  • UW-Madison students who are interested in earning this degree in conjunction with their PharmD degree will need to complete the general education requirements outlined above:
    • Prior to admission to the PharmD degree OR
    • Prior to completion of the second year of the PharmD program
  • Any student who satisfies the criteria outlined above will automatically be granted this degree
  • The degree will be conferred at the end of the second year of the PharmD program
  • Students may not earn this degree retroactively (beyond completion of the second year of the PharmD program
