Prevalent health care topics are theme for Hawaii 2017

The Division of Pharmacy Professional Development has announced details for the February 1-8, 2017 Pharmacy Continuing Education (CE) Study/Travel Program to be held in Maui in the Hawaiian Islands. Marking the 33rd consecutive year for this program the 2017 course will include eight hours of pain management and will be jointly provided by the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Pharmacy, Division of Pharmacy Professional Development; UW-Madison, School of Nursing, Continuing Education in Nursing; and in cooperation with the University of Southern California, School of Pharmacy. Other themes covered during the program will include:

  • Self-Care and Nonprescription Therapies
  • Bone Diseases in the Aging Adult
  • Fall Risk Assessment & Prevention in the Aging Adult
  • Dementia, Delirium and Depression in the Aging Adult

Walk away with a greater understanding of each topic covered, practical knowledge, and skills that can be applied in a variety of practice settings; including appropriate drug therapies and improving patient outcomes through patient counseling, education, and appropriate drug monitoring.
