Estimated PharmD Tuition Rates for 2024-2025

In an effort to make financial planning easier for 4th year PharmD students, our tuition payment for the summer semester for the fourth year was eliminated.  4th year students will need to pay summer segregated fees, but will not have an additional term tuition payment.

International $47,947 $47,947 $47,947 $47,947

The estimated tuition rates above do not include segregated fees, which are set in the summer of each year. The segregated fees for the 2024-2025 year are $1,597 per-year for Years 1-3 and $1,987 for Year 4. Students will be charged segregated fees during the DPH-4 Summer term. International students studying on a visa will be charged a $100 per semester International Student Fee. See more on the UW Tuition Rates page, which lists tuition and fees by semester. Be sure to select “Pharmacy” in the drop-down menu. Because tuition rates and segregated fees are tied to the timing of state budget approval, the Madison Budget Office is generally able to set and publish rates for the upcoming Fall and Spring semesters in late July. Future tuition/fee increases should be expected when budgeting.

Minnesota Reciprocity

Our PharmD program participates in Minnesota/Wisconsin tuition reciprocity, which allows Minnesota residents to attend our program with discounted tuition rates, avoiding non-resident tuition.

Minnesota resident tuition is determined by the Minnesota Office of Higher Education. For updated Minnesota reciprocity information, please go to Minnesota-Wisconsin Tuition Reciprocity Agreement Application. Tuition for Minnesota Residents may also be altered once this figure is determined.

Residence for Tuition Purposes

The UW–Madison Office of the Registrar determines the residency status of students based on Wisconsin state law. More information about residency including frequently asked questions can be found on the UW Office of the Registrar.

Generally, a student who enters Wisconsin to attend any educational institution will continue in the nonresident status until the student’s reason for being in Wisconsin is clearly shown to be non-educational. Twelve months after the change in the student’s reason for being in Wisconsin, the student may wish to inquire about appealing their nonresident status.
