The Kremers Memorial Lecture has been sponsored yearly by the Eta Chapter of the Rho Chi Society since 1950. The annual lecturer is a scientist and educator, or a creative leader in the health sciences.
The School of Pharmacy is proud to host a series of exceptional lectures bringing world class researchers and educators to deliver lectures and engage in scientific discourse.
Dr. Louis W. Busse was a leader in the development of pharmaceutical research, continuing education, and pharmacy internship. From 1954-68 he served as Associate Dean, and from 1956-66 he was coordinator of Extension Services. He retired from the UW Faculty in 1978 as the Edward Kremers Professor of Pharmacy. Upon his retirement the Louis W. Busse Lecture Series was established.
Since 1955 the Rennebohm Lectures have brought researchers with national and international reputations to speak at the UW School of Pharmacy, through the support of the Oscar Rennebohm Foundation.
The C. Richard Hutchinson Lecture is intended to celebrate and recognize careers dedicated to contemporary research and major advances in natural product discovery and development.
