Research Specialist
BS Pharmacy
MS Pharm/Tox, Long Island University

I am a Research Specialist in the Wenthur lab at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, joined in May 2023. I received Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy in 2015 from India and a Master of Science degree in Pharmacology/Toxicology in 2020 from Long Island University, New York. During my masters, I participated in the research mainly focused on Cardiopulmonary pharmacology and connection between reactive airway diseases and development of cardiovascular diseases by studying asthma pathogenesis and role of various receptors in subsequent cardiovascular consequences.
After graduation, I joined Talkowski lab at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School where I focused on learning and using genome editing methods like CRISPR in human cellular models to generate and differentiate isogenic series of cell lines targeting the genes most robustly associated with Autism spectrum disorders and other Neurodevelopmental disorders which were then used to identify points of functional and molecular convergence.
Having learned various research skills and with a background of Pharmacology and Neuroscience, within the Wenthur lab, I am assisting with various projects broadly focused on elucidating therapeutically relevant mechanism of actions of rapidly acting antidepressants and the classical psychedelics.
