I have a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Iowa and an A.S. in Clinical Pharmacy from China Pharmaceutical University in Nanjing, China. I am interested in studying how to improve healthy literacy and reduce the barriers of accessing care in rural and underserved areas. I joined Prof. Shiyanbola’s lab in 2018 and I really enjoy learning new knowledge and skills in the lab, such as qualitative and quantitative data analysis. I am working with a team on Prof. Shiyanbola’s project focusing on improving medication adherence among African American patients with type 2 diabetes and developing an intervention based on AAs culture and illness perceptions. During my free time, I like reading, dancing, and going on road trips. For my career goal, I would like to be a rural pharmacist working in outpatient settings or ambulatory care.
