Makenzie Hansen

Pharm.D. Student (Class of 2026)

Kenzie Hansen is a second-year pharmacy student at the UW-Madison School of Pharmacy. She has been a part of the Shiyanbola Research Group since January 2023 and has continued through the summer and fall. So far she has assisted with participant screening, data collection, interviews, qualitative analysis, and constructing an abstract. Kenzie is passionate about research that aims to achieve health equity.

Outside of the lab, Kenzie is earning a certificate in Fundamentals of Clinical Research. She is also the co-chair of operation diabetes in the Wisconsin Society of Pharmacy Students. She has enjoyed applying the knowledge she has gained from Dr. Shiyanbola’s research to her role in operation diabetes.

Before becoming a pharmacy student, Kenzie was a wildlife ecology major at UW-Madison. She loves nature- especially marine life. Her hobbies include snorkeling, diving, hiking, climbing, and hammocking. She also likes traveling and learning about other cultures.
