The UW Science Expeditions is our annual campus-wide science open house: it’s an opportunity for all of us to share our research & outreach with Wisconsin’s youth. We engaged the Wisconsin community regarding topics in health literacy, health disparities, and community engagement using a superhero theme and Jeopardy!
We focused on how kids can incorporate healthy actions throughout daily life routine and ways to encourage their peers to be “community health heroes!”. The annual Science Expeditions are also a great resource for team building exercise for our lab! The Shiyanbola Lab will continue to participate in community engagement and shaping our future scientists!
