Morgridge Center for Public Service Community-based Research Grant Award

March 21, 2020

Congratulations to Dr. Shiyanbola on the Morgridge Center for Public Service Community-based Research Grant award. This grant is intended to support projects in any discipline at the University of Wisconsin-Madison that engage with community organizations to address community-identified priorities. Dr. Shiyanbola will be partnering with Unite Milwaukee, an organization that links healthcare agencies to Milwaukee communities. They will use feedback from community members to enhance a community-based program for African-Americans with diabetes in Milwaukee. The long-term goal of this project is to combine a pre-existing diabetes program and the Peers LEAD (Peers Supporting Health Literacy, Self-Efficacy, Self-Advocacy, and Adherence) program to improve the health of African Americans with diabetes. View the full list of 2020-2021 funded projects.
