Piper is a graduate student in the Hong Research Group. While she is still in the early stages of her research, Piper is focusing on the use of positively charged polyamidoamine (PAMAM) dendrimers for immunotherapy. Piper graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison with a BS in materials science and engineering and a minor in biology. After briefly working in industry as a polymer engineer, Piper transitioned back to academia and worked as a researcher and lab manager for Dr. Brendon Nacewicz, where she studied expansion microscopy and the neural circuitry underlying fear and anxiety. She joined the Pharmaceutical Sciences PhD program at the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2020.
