Congratulations to Dr. Hong Y. Choi on His New Faculty Position!

We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Hong Y. Choi, a former postdoctoral researcher in our lab, has started his independent research lab as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Gangneung-Wonju National University in Korea, as of September 1st. Dr. Choi becomes the 6th faculty member among our lab alumni, and we wish him great success in his future endeavors!

“Gold nanoparticles in virus detection: Recent advances and potential considerations for SARS-CoV-2 testing development” as the TOP downloaded article in 2022 WIREs Nanomedicine and Nanobiotechnology

Our paper entitled “Gold nanoparticles in virus detection: Recent advances and potential considerations for SARS-CoV-2 testing development” (WIREs Nanomedicine and Nanobiotechnology, 2022; 14: e17154) has been chosen as the top downloaded paper in 2022 from the Journal of WIREs Nanomedicine and Nanobiotechnology. The authors are Jianxin (Jason) Wang, Adam J. Drelich, Caroline M. Hopkins, Dr. Sandro Mecozzi, Dr. Lingjun Li, Dr. Glen Kwon, and Dr. Seungpyo Hong. Congratulations!

Dr. Hong To Be Inducted as Fellow to AIMBE

Seungpyo Hong has been elected to the 2022 Class of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) College of Fellows. He was nominated, reviewed, and elected by peers and members of the AIMBE College of Fellows for outstanding contribution to nanotechnology and cancer diagnostics. Dr. Hong will be formally inducted during AIMBE’s 2022 Annual Event on March 25, 2022.

 

The College of Fellows is comprised of the top two percent of medical and biological engineers in the country. The most accomplished and distinguished engineering and medical school chairs, research directors, professors, innovators, and successful entrepreneurs comprise the College of Fellows.
