Eric Buxton, clinical assistant professor, will facilitate continuing education for those in the pharma industry when he begins his role on September 1 with the Extension Services in Pharmacy Division.

Most recently at Lexicon Pharmaceuticals in The Woodlands, Tex., Buxton was manager of Discovery Informatics. He was responsible for the capture and analysis of in vitro and in vivo data for the drug discovery process. Buxton received his BS in chemistry/math from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Tex. and a PhD in analytical chemistry from UW-Madison with Lloyd Smith. Having grown up in Beaver Dam, Wis., Buxton makes a return to the area.
