Novel Bacterial Topoisomerase Inhibitors – Tackling a Golden Target with New Scaffolds

MRSA and other infections caused by multidrug-resistant bacteria threaten both individual health and the continued success of modern medicine. Our research team has designed, synthesized, and evaluated three new series of Novel Bacterial Topoisomerase Inhibitors (NBTIs). This emerging class of antibacterials offers a new approach to treating infections.

In this presentation, I will describe our multidisciplinary research, including key findings pertinent to potency, cardiovascular safety, metabolism, and resistance emergence.

Hosted by Assistant Professor Jennifer Golden.
