This is an informal “career roundtable” discussion hosted by the Graduate Studies Office at the School of Pharmacy and intended for graduate students and postdocs in the school’s Pharmaceutical Sciences Division. If planning on attending, please RSVP to Ken Niemeyer (kenneth.niemeyer@wisc.edu). The featured guest will be Ibrahim Jalal, PhD, senior vice president for technical affairs at Hikma Pharmaceuticals PLC.  Dr. Jalal has worked for Hikma since 1979 and has significantly contributed to its growth from a start-up to an international pharmaceutical company with 8500 employees across 29 plants, distributed in the Middle East, Europe, and the U.S.   He has held a wide variety of responsibilities at Hikma, including the technical due diligence of new acquisitions and their successful integration into the firm.  During his time at UW-Madison, Dr. Jalal studied under Professor and Dean Emeritus George Zografi.  

He is in Madison to receive an honorary UW-Madison “citation of merit” for his lifetime achievements.
