Debra Fluno, national director of pharmacy operations and support services for Cardinal Health, specializes in improving patient outcomes and reducing overall costs while providing high quality care. During her more than 30-year career in hospital pharmacy, she has developed expertise in pharmacy leadership, strategic planning, clinical pharmacy program development, pharmacy data and analytic insights, pharmacy residency program development and management of multi-hospital pharmacy operations. She is a recipient of several professional awards: 2004 Cardinal Health Founder’s Award, a 2004 Pharmacy Management Pillar of Excellence in Leadership Development award, a 2011 Enterprise Award and a 2013 Consultative Services Sales Excellence Award, and serves as a member of the School of Pharmacy Board of Visitors.

The Pharmacology and Toxicology undergraduate program at the University of Wisconsin–Madison School of Pharmacy features an interdisciplinary, biomedically-rich, human-health focused curriculum that prepares students for scientific careers as well as for graduate work or study in health professional programs.

Dr. Patrick Dowling is a faculty member in the Division of Allergy, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine within the Department of Medicine at UW–Madison’s School of Medicine and Public Health. He is chair of the UnityPoint Health–Meriter Hospital Clinical Council and Education Committee, vice chair of the UnityPoint Health–Meriter Antibiotic and Infection Prevention Committee, and chair of the UnityPoint Health–Meriter Department of Internal Medicine. Dr. Dowling graduated with the Pharmacology and Toxicology BS degree in 1987 and was selected as the 2023 PharmTox Alumnus of the Year.
