Systems Approach to Medication Safety (SAMS) Lab
In Dr. Chui’s research lab (SAMS lab), we apply human factors approaches and utilize a systems perspective to study and characterize community pharmacy practice and its practitioners. We partner with community pharmacists to understand processes that impact medication safety and quality of care, so that interventions can be developed and tested that would allow pharmacists to provide effective and efficient medication management.
Post Doctoral Research Fellowship Opening:
Professor Michelle Chui is seeking a highly-motivated and capable postdoctoral researcher with an interest in a systems approach to medication safety, stakeholder engagement, and dissemination and implementation science. The successful candidate will work with Dr. Chui on a newly funded AHRQ R18 related to a randomized controlled trial testing a community pharmacy redesign intervention to support over-the-counter medication safety. The work involves patient, clinician, and organizational stakeholder engagement, data collection utilizing eye-tracking technology, and data analysis to support effectiveness and sustainment of the intervention.
