Commencement weekend brought the University of Wisconsin–Madison School of Pharmacy community together to honor the achievements of the Class of 2026. Graduates from across the School’s academic programs — including Pharmacology and Toxicology, the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program, the Health System Pharmacy Administration master’s program, and the Pharmaceutical Sciences and Health Services Research in Pharmacy graduate programs — gathered with family, friends, faculty, and staff to mark this important milestone.

PharmD Graduation Awards Breakfast
The first full day of commencement weekend began with a morning of recognition. At the Pyle Center on May 8, the School of Pharmacy gathered to celebrate PharmD students who went well beyond the classroom — excelling in clinical communication, peer mentoring, public health advocacy, academics, and more.
Faculty, staff, and pharmacy leaders joined in the celebration, including alumni Sharon Faust (BS ’07, PharmD ’11) and Jenny Tempelis (PharmD ’03). See the full list of awardees here.

PharmD & Health System Pharmacy Administration MS Hooding Ceremony
On Friday, May 8, PharmD and Health System Pharmacy Administration master’s graduates gathered at Memorial Union for a ceremony that drew together alumni, faculty, and friends of the School.
Prestigious alum Steve Rough (BS ’91, MS ’94), chairman of Visante, delivered the keynote address. Remarks came from Pharmacy Alumni Association President Jenny Tempelis (PharmD ’03), Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin President Nicole Schreiner (PharmD ’98), and graduating students Reem Salah (PharmD ’26) and Carsyn Snagg (MS ’26).
The ceremony also honored two exceptional preceptors: Trisha Ludwig (PharmD ’94) received the Larry Boh Clinical Instructor Excellence Award, and Jenny Moran (BS ’88) received the Sustained Preceptor Excellence Award.

Graduate Studies Hooding and Recognition Ceremony
On Thursday, May 7, the School of Pharmacy held a dedicated Hooding and Recognition Ceremony for graduates of the Health Services Research in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences programs, including the Applied Drug Development and Psychoactive Pharmaceutical Investigation master’s programs.

Pharmacology-Toxicology Graduation Breakfast
Ahead of the UW–Madison Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 9, the School of Pharmacy’s Pharmacology and Toxicology program hosted a celebratory breakfast at Carson Gulley Center to honor the accomplishments of its graduating seniors.
The event featured keynote remarks from 2026 PharmTox Alum of the Year Scott Haugen (BS ’95), an interventional cardiologist at Kaiser Permanenta; Jenny Tempelis (PharmD ’03), as well as Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences Jeff Johnson, the PharmTox program’s faculty director and recipient of the PharmTox Teacher of the Year Award, and graduate speaker Mihini Gamamadagedon (BS ’26).
