Five distinguished Pharmacology-Toxicology seniors presented their research and demonstrated their contribution to the UW-Madison community via research poster presentations at the University’s Undergraduate Symposium.

The annual event showcases undergraduate creativity, achievement, research, service-learning and community-based research from all areas of study at UW–Madison including the humanities, fine arts, biological sciences, physical sciences, and social sciences.

Pharmacology-Toxicology students are required to spend at least one semester in a campus laboratory. Many of these students are involved for multiple semesters, which gives them a deep research foundation. Seniors, and the laboratory they are affiliated with, included:

• Anatoliy Nechyporenko, in the laboratory of Professor Lingjun Li, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Chemistry
• Jerad Simmons, in the laboratory of Professor Katrina Forest, Bacteriology
• Rachel Sossaman, in the laboratory of Assistant Professor Gillian McLellan, Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences
• Mary Thompson, in the laboratory of Assistant Professor Michelle Kimple, Endocrinology
• Logan Wilz, in the laboratory of Associate Professor Randal Tibbetts, Human Oncology

The Undergraduate Symposium was held on Thursday, April 10 in Union South and was open to the public.
