More than 100 School of Pharmacy students embraced the opportunity to attend the annual Legislative Day hosted by the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin. They joined pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and fellow students from other institutions to hear from State Representatives Mike Rohrkaste, Joe Sanfelippo, and Deb Kolste, and Attorney General Brad Schimel regarding the expertise and impact that pharmacists bring to current and pending legislation. In addition, members of the Pharmacy Examining Board shared updates and rule changes. In the afternoon attendees visited Capitol offices to discuss pharmacy-related legislation with Senators and State Representatives, including legislation related to emergency refills, intern immunization authority, and the revision of obsolete and outdated administrative rules. Olivia Fahey, a third year pharmacy student, was the recipient of the 2017 PSW Student Good Government Award.
