Students assist in Take-Back Day and Immunizations

School of Pharmacy students participated in dual events at the Boscobel Pharmacy in late September. Sarah Shively and Alyssa Ruchti, DPH-2s, took part in the National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day while Kelsey Pausche and Tara Ragatz, DPH-1s, worked with Jared Snyder, DPH-4, in the kick-off of the influenza immunization clinic.

The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for prescription drug abuse. The pharmacy collected over 30 pounds of medications. The immunization clinic was equally successful as the student team administered 24 vaccines and reviewed Wisconsin Immunization Registry information for more than 100 homebound patients.
