“Innovative Research in Pharmacy Practice,” is the title of a TED-style podium presentation that Kevin Look, assistant professor in the Social and Administrative Sciences Division, will deliver at the APhA Annual Meeting & Exposition this March in San Francisco.

Assistant Professor Look’s talk is based on research conducted with rural Wisconsin caregivers to understand how they assist older adults with their medications. His presentation will discuss how an older adult’s health, independence, and living situation affects the need for caregiver support and the ways in which care is provided. The podium format aligns with TED talks— which are devoted to sharing ideas and are typically short, powerful talks on topics from science to business to global issues.

Look’s research interests include the evaluation of changes to health care policies, how changes to insurance coverage and benefit design impact medication use and costs, medication management by caregivers in rural areas, and rural-urban disparities in access to insurance and health care.
