Chung is outstanding biomaterials researcher

Amy Chung, PhD candidate in the Pharmaceutical Sciences Division, has been awarded the 2009 Student Award for Outstanding Research by a PhD Candidate from the Society for Biomaterials.

This prestigious award is given to student researchers who have shown outstanding achievement in biomaterials research. Chung, a member of Weiyuan John Kao’s, professor in the Pharmaceutical Sciences Division, lab, studies the intricate process of wound healing. Chung’s paper will be submitted for possible publication in the Journal of Biomedical Materials Research or the Journal of Applied Biomaterials. In addition Chung will receive a travel stipend and complimentary registration to the Society for Biomaterials 2009 Annual Meeting in San Antonio, Texas April 22-25, 2009.
