Rattavut “M” Teerakapibal, a fifth year PhD student in the laboratory of Lian Yu, professor in the Pharmaceutical Sciences Division, received the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) Graduate Student Research Award in Physical Pharmacy and Biopharmaceutics and the 2016 American Association of Indian Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAiPS) Graduate Student Research Award.

The AAPS award is designed to recognize excellence in graduate study and research in the fields of Physical Pharmacy and Biopharmaceutics. Established in the late 1990s, the AAiPS award is among three awards that were instituted to recognize both Indian and Non-Indian scientists and leaders.

For the AAiPS award, Teerakapibal submitted an 800 word abstract of his research including purpose, methods, results, and conclusion. Applicants with accepted abstracts presented their research findings at the 2016 Annual Meeting.

Teerakapibal was formally recognized for both awards at the AAPS Annual Meeting & Exposition held November 11-14 in Denver, Colorado.
