Torie Grover, DPH-3, participated in a Google+ Hangout featuring the winning teams of the 2014 Script Your Future Medication Adherence Team Challenge. The live event was captured on YouTube with a student representative from each of the teams presenting their team’s unique approach to tackling poor adherence in their community. Approximately 20 minutes into the conversation, Grover describes UW-Madison’s participation.
The competition engaged interprofessional student teams from schools of pharmacy, medicine, nursing and other health professions to raise awareness about the critical health issue of medication adherence. Competing in the interprofessional team category, scoring for the challenge was determined based on the amount and quality of community outreach performed.
Grover is a pharmacy representative in the UW-Madison Interprofessional Health Council (IPHC) and was a major contributor to the success of the challenge. Joe Zorek, assistant professor in the Pharmacy Practice Division, and Interprofessional Education Liaison, serves as the faculty advisor for IPHC.
