UW-Madison mentoring expert Christine Sorkness is a member of an interdisciplinary team, awarded a National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD) P20 planning grant, which will collaboratively partner with several U.S. groups to compete for an NIH grant to develop a National Research Mentoring Network (NRMN). In developing their section of the NRMN proposal, Sorkness and two other UW team members will build on their extensive work developing, implementing, and evaluating trainings for both mentors and mentees. In September 2014 the NIMHD will award one five-year grant for $10 million.
