Lingjun Li, associate professor in the Pharmaceutical Sciences Division, has been awarded a H.I. Romnes Faculty Fellowship from the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF).

This unrestricted 5-year research award recognizes the University’s most outstanding recently tenured faculty.

Research in Professor Li’s laboratory focuses on developing novel mass spectrometry (MS)-based tools in conjunction with microseparation techniques to study challenging neuroscience problems. Proteomics and peptidomics approaches have been implemented to enable functional discovery of neuropeptides and biomarker discovery in neurodegenerative diseases.

Named in honor of H.I. Romnes, late Trustee President of WARF, the fellowship recognizes proven potential and provides an opportunity for critical judgment by the Fellow on the best strategies for development of an outstanding research program and carries with it a $50,000 flexible research fund. Li was previously recognized with an NSF CAREER Award, a Sloan Research Fellowship, a Vilas Associate Award, and the American Society for Mass Spectrometry Research Award.
