Students raise dollars for chance to go first

Students in the Sterile Products Lab course of Mel de Villiers, professor (CHS), Pharmaceutical Sciences Division, and Bonnie Fingerhut, Dispensing Laboratory Coordinator, got creative about waiting.

After students finish their dry lab activity, they typically take turns waiting for the sterile products lab. After several weeks of rotating the order, students opted to try something different– auction off the “right to go first,” with donations earmarked for a local charity. At the close of the fall semester the students will have raised more than $600 to be donated to the Ronald McDonald House of Madison.
