Where is the coolest place you have traveled? Why? If you have ever talked to me for more than 5 minutes, then you probably know I spent a summer in Ecuador teaching biology in a rural elementary school. It was awesome to experience the vast biodiversity of the country and to work so closely with the locals.

Brittany Meyer, Co-President

Where is the coolest place you have traveled? Why? The coolest place I have ever been to is Turks and Caicos. I went there on a cruise a few years ago and I fell in love with the island as soon as I stepped off of the ship. The secluded island was beautiful and had so many fun things to do!

Holly Dorscheid,  Treasurer

Where is the coolest place you have traveled? Why? One of the coolest places that I have been to would probably be Prague, Czech Republic. It was largely untouched by World War II so there is awesome architecture around the city, but it is also mixed with modern art everywhere. Prague also has great, cheap food- if you ever go you have to try trdelnik, it is SO GOOD!

Alexander Gidal, Student Senate Representative

Where is the coolest place you have traveled? Why? The coolest place I have traveled is Hong Kong. I spent two months working in living in one of the biggest cities I have ever seen, and the crazy blend between western and eastern cultures made the experience unforgettable. Getting lost in a big city was way more exciting and frightening when everything is in a different language, too.

Chloe Schmidt, Global Health Trip Coordinator

Where is the coolest place you have traveled? Why? My favorite place that I have traveled is Maui because the weather is perfect, there is always fresh fruit, and the beaches cannot be beat.

Stephanie Wienkers, Secretary

Where is the coolest place you have traveled? Why? The coolest place I’ve ever traveled was probably Galway, Ireland. I lived there for four months and really got to experience the city and see more than one would if they were just to visit for a couple days. I also was able to travel around Ireland and see the beautiful sites.

Alicia Ritscher, Community Outreach Co-Chair

Where is the coolest place you have traveled? Why? My favorite place that I have traveled to is Edinburgh, Scotland. I was fortunate enough to live and work there for a summer allowing me to immerse myself in the culture, learn about their rich history, attend the largest arts festival in the world, and attempt to decipher the thick accent.

Sarah Pupkes, Community Outreach Co-Chair

Where is the coolest place you have traveled? Why? The coolest place I have traveled is Madrid, Spain. This was my favorite travel experience because I lived there for 6 weeks and was able to really get to know the city and experience Spanish culture. I can’t wait to go back one day!

Nicole Haebig, Webmaster

Where is the coolest place you have traveled? Why? The coolest place I have ever traveled to was Munich, Germany. Was involved in a student exchange program, which allowed me to first host a German student here in the US, and then stay with her family while in Germany. Staying with a host family made for an even more authentic German experience!
