Stroud to present work on Hobbes in England

Elaine Stroud, assistant director of the American Institute of the History of Pharmacy, has been invited to participate in a workshop on the natural philosophy of Thomas Hobbes (1588-1679) in Oxford, England in early February.

Stroud’s work concerns Hobbe’s theory of vision and his optics. She is currently working on an edition of Hobbe’s optics with Franco Giudice from the University of Bergamo for Oxford University Press. The American Institute of the History of Pharmacy is housed within the School of Pharmacy.
