Kelly brings healthcare industry expertise to professional development

The Division of Pharmacy Professional Development (DPPD) welcomes Brett Kelly as a clinical assistant professor. Mr. Kelly is a former healthcare consultant specializing in Healthcare Exchange activities and assisting companies to maximize revenues within federal markets, such as Department of Defense and VA Public Health. Mr. Kelly has an extensive background in pharmacy benefit management, contract negotiations, sales strategy and healthcare reform. In addition, he has designed economic and budget impact models in support of formulary management decisions for federal, commercial, Medicare Part D and Managed Medicaid payers.

As a new clinical assistant professor, Kelly will focus his talents and knowledge on deep and meaningful engagement with the general healthcare industry, specifically the area of managed care. He holds a BS in Pharmacy from the University of Iowa and two master’s degrees from University of Maryland and University of Texas at Austin. He also completed a general practice pharmacy residency at the Presidio of San Francisco and a Managed Care Fellowship at PCS (now CVS Caremark).
