Inaugural research symposium for PharmD and Pharm-Tox students

Students, faculty, and health professionals from the Madison area attended the inaugural First Annual Doctor of Pharmacy and Pharmacology-Toxicology Research Symposium.

Doctor of Pharmacy and pharmacology-toxicology students joined together to present their research projects at the School of Pharmacy’s First Annual Doctor of Pharmacy and Pharmacology-Toxicology Research Symposium. The event showcased the research posters of 40 students who have been engaged in research with faculty and health professionals in the Madison community. Pharmacy residents from the Madison area also presented their residency projects. The range of projects presented included clinical pharmacy practice, community pharmacy practice, informatics and technology, pharmaceutical sciences, social and administrative sciences, and other biological sciences such as immunology.

Approximately 150 students, faculty, and staff from the School of Pharmacy, Nursing, and Medicine and Public Health, as well as health professionals from the community, attended the event to view and discuss the research projects and support students’ efforts. Students were also able to explore new research opportunities and network with faculty members and residents.
